Could you tell me which application shall I use with your device?

Of course – you should use “Smart Life” for Android version 4.1 and above, as well as iOS version 9.0 and above.

Could you tell me how to pair the device with the application?

It’s very easy, you should simply follow these steps: first of all, put in the batteries, then press and hold the button for 5 seconds to enter into the Wi-Fi configuration mode. You will notice that the LED indicator will start blinking. Once that is done, simply follow the instructions in the app, or refer to the manual provided in the package for a more detailed pairing process explanation.

Could you tell me how to unpair the device?

Sure – simply press and hold the button on the device for 5 seconds to unpair it from your smartphone, or use the Remove Device button in the device settings menu.

Could you tell me how can I reset the device?

It’s very easy – simply open the application device menu and go to Settings, then click Restore Manufacturer Defaults.

I wonder how long is this device’s battery life?

The device’s battery life highly depends on several factors, such as outside temperature, daily activation count, motion detection sensitivity and number of live view previews per day. The average battery life is around 2 months. Please make sure you charge your device before batteries are completely discharged, otherwise you might need to go through the setup process again.

I was wondering if the doorbell comes with batteries?

Yes, the doorbell comes together with rechargeable batteries.

I was wondering how to charge the batteries?

Simply use the included micro USB cable with a 5 V wall charger (wall charger is not included).

How long does it take to charge the batteries?

Usually, charging time is between 5 to 10 hours, depending on a wall charger you use.

Can the doorbell be hardwired?

This device supports 8–24 V AC power supply and battery charging. The doorbell must be connected to an 8-24 V AC transformer, which is not included in the package, and cannot be connected directly to a 220 V. DC transformers are not supported by the device either. 

What is the maximum allowed distance between the chime and the doorbell for it to be working perfectly well?

The chime should be installed no further than 30 meters from a doorbell.

I was wondering how many different melodies does the chime have?

The chime has 18 different melodies to choose from. 

Can the chime be muted?

The chime has 5 different sound levels, with one of them being the silent mode. Simply press the volume key to scroll through them all. 

I was wondering if this doorbell has night vision?

Of course it does! This doorbell has an infrared night vision with up to 5m reach.

I was wondering if this doorbell has motion detection?

Of course it does! The doorbell has motion detection with up to 5m reach.

For some reason the motion detection does not work, is there anything I can do about it?

Don’t worry! Motion detection is turned off by default. Simply switch it on in the doorbell’s settings once you start using the device.

Could you tell me where does the device store the recorded data?

Sure – all the recorded data is stored safely on a micro SD card. However, the card is not included in the package. 

Could you tell me what’s the maximum micro SD card’s capacity that is supported by this device?

Sure! Our device supports micro SD cards with the capacity of up to 64 GB.

I’ve run into an issue – the micro SD card is not identified for some reason, what shall I do?

Don’t worry, simply make sure that the micro SD card is inserted when the Doorbell is turned off. Also, please make sure the micro SD card is formatted as FAT32 and that its size is not higher than 64GB. 

Could you tell me what happens when the micro SD card’s memory is full?

Once the card’s memory is full, the doorbell will continue recording, but the new data will be saved over the oldest recorded data.

Could you tell me if the recordings saved on the micro SD card can be viewed on my laptop?

Unfortunately, due to security reasons, the recordings can only be viewed in the application. However, If you want to transfer the videos to your computer, go to the playback menu and select record button to save the desired video segment. This can later be found in your phone’s storage and transferred to the computer.

Is it possible for the video to be turned upside down?

Of course it is – simply go to the doorbell’s Basic Function Settings and turn on Flip Screen option, easy!

Is it possible to view a live stream from whichever location I am at?

Yap, it is! You can connect to your Doorbell from whichever location you are at, by using the free “Smart Life” app for smartphones and tablets. Just make sure to have your mobile device connected to the Internet or your local wireless network. 

I’ve run into an issue – the doorbell’s live view stopped working, could you please tell what shall I do?

Don’t panic, simply check if your internet connection works fine and whether your batteries are charged – also, you can always try restarting the mobile application!

Is it possible to use the doorbell for audio communication?

Good news – yes it is! This doorbell has a built-in microphone and a speaker, which can be used for two-way audio communication.

I’ve run into an issue – I am unable to connect to the device on any network other than my home one, could you please tell what shall I do?

Don’t worry, the issue is simply to do with different routers. Make sure that the router you are trying to connect to has a port forwarding enabled to access the device. If that’s a bit too complicated for you to do, maybe get in touch with your network provider. They should be able to guide you step-by-step.

Is it possible to use the doorbell without a smartphone?

Unfortunately it isn’t, since the doorbell was designed to be used specifically with smartphones – both Android and iOS devices.

Could you tell me how to change the Wi-Fi network, which the doorbell connects to?

Of course! Simply press the reset button for 5 seconds or remove the device from the app to reset the connection. Once you’ve successfully finished resetting the doorbell, follow the Wi-Fi setup procedure in the “Smart Life” application. 

I’ve run into an issue – for some reason, I’ve stopped receiving notifications on the device.

Don’t worry, that’s not an issue. Simply make sure the motion detection is turned on in the doorbell’s settings menu. 

Is it possible for the doorbell to be controlled by more than one user?

Of course it is! The way it works is as follows: the user account, which initially sets up the doorbell and connects it to the Wi-Fi network is the owner and the primary account. In order for other users to gain control over the doorbell, the ‘owner account’ must ‘share’ the device with them, which can be done in the “Smart Life” app settings. This way, another user gains control over the doorbell without going through the whole set-up process. 

Could you please tell me if the doorbell supports the 5GHz Wi-Fi network?

Unfortunately, but the answer is no. The doorbell only supports the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.

I’ve run into an issue – for reason I cannot connect to the device

Don’t panic, that’s not even an issue, you simply need to check a few things before it is connected again. First of all, make sure that your device is connected to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network, since 5 GHz Wi-Fi network is not supported. Secondly, make sure that the device is within the range of the Wi-Fi network, which also has a strong signal. Finally, make sure that your wireless router/ access point or the network provider is not blocking the P2P (peer to peer) networking. That’s all!

How can I check the status of the doorbell?

That’s very simple – you can check the status of the doorbell by using the “Smart Life” application

I was wondering if the device is waterproof?

Yes! The device is resistant to various weather conditions. The doorbell has an external impact protection class of IP54, which means that it is durable until it is directly immersed in water.
